Description | | Challenging behavior is any persistent behavior that negatively affects a child’s learning or interactions with peers and adults. All behavior is communication, and children have different ways of communicating. Displaying challenging behaviors can be one way of expressing an unmet need.
The importance of the teacher’s role in the behavior of children cannot be overemphasized - it is crucial! Practical, indispensable information will be shared during these sessions that will enable participants to:
> understand why children behave the way they do,
> respond to children's social, emotional, and behavioral needs,
> build relationships with children and their families,
> address and prevent challenging behavior effectively with strategies best suited to the child and the situation. |
