Do you know how to reduce the risk of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and prevent accidental suffocation? Do you know the safest way to put a baby to sleep? Do you have a safe sleep policy? If you answered NO to any of these questions, this workshop is for you.
Never Shake a Child
Everyone is at risk of shaking a child. When a child is shaken, the shaking can cause brain damage, life changing disabilities, and even death. This is one childhood injury that is preventable.
Power to Protect
Child abuse and neglect unfortunately happens in Nebraska. Child care providers need to know about child abuse and neglect, how to make a report, ways to strengthen families, and how to prevent child abuse in their own child care programs.

Children need to learn to share so they can make and keep friends, play cooperatively, take turns, negotiate and cope with disappointment. Just like infants cannot learn to walk until they are physically ready, children cannot learn to share until they are socially ready. And yet, when children opt not to share something, we often view that as a sign of selfishness. During this session, discussion will focus on understanding the stages of sharing, how to support young children in learning this skill, and encouraging adults to look at sharing from a different perspective.
