Description | | The science is clear: A child's brain doubles in size by their first birthday and 90% of their brain is formed by age 5! Positive interactions between infants and toddlers and the adults in their world are the fuel for brain development. This means that every interaction shapes their future and that early childhood educators and providers - in fact, all adults in a young child's life - have a lot of responsibility. How can we bridge the gap between busy families and optimal early learning?
By collaborating with families, we open ourselves up to the potential that lies in each child. Working together, we can build a rock-solid foundation for the developing brain. We will spend our day exploring the concepts, practice, and strategies necessary to embrace a "shared child" approach. Participants will experience a “toolbox" full of tools to use in daily interactions with infants and toddlers that embody the principles of developmentally appropriate practice.
Wear your comfiest clothes and get ready to move, learn, and connect! You will leave this session empowered, knowing that you play a critical role in shaping young minds! |
