| Description | | Like everything else in life, training sessions have a beginning, middle, and end. Is it weird that most training design energy goes into the middle (the content, the activities, the flow) without a ton of intention being put into the beginning and end? The first few minutes and the last few minutes are doing work too (perhaps the most important work, actually): they set expectations, build psychological safety, and determine whether learning actually sticks after people walk out or log off. This session treats the opening and closing of a training as design decisions, each with distinct purposes, distinct techniques, and distinct pitfalls.
We hope you'll join one of our favorite training experts as we spend two hours diving into opening strategies that will set you and your learners up for success, and closing strategies that will leave your learners with direction and resources to bring your training content to life when they return to the real world. |
