| Description | | At the 2018 ELC Omaha Region Early Literacy Conference, adults working with children ages 2-8 will see how literacy experiences (books, songs, poems, etc.) can help provide support, reassurance and understanding during challenging times. Major events that impact a child's life can include going to the doctor, starting preschool or kindergarten, grieving the death of someone special, having a family member diagnosed with a “scary” illness, or understanding a friend with Autism or a special need. Using the ideas and strategies presented at the conference, adults will build their confidence in helping children make sense of their world.
