Fostering Language & Literacy Development in Our Youngest Learners
Young children learn to become good communicators when their caregivers respond to their sounds and actions. They learn to love books and reading when their caregivers read to them often.  The 2021 Symposium focuses on language and literacy developmental milestones.

Participants of the 2021 Infant Toddler Symposium will explore:
¨ current practices in early childhood classrooms of the attendees
¨ the process of intentional selection for the best books for early childhood
¨ brain development benefits of rhyme, rhythm, and song
¨ value of listening comprehension and how to facilitate a richer, more intimate experience for infants
¨ how to increase linguistic skills and cognitive abilities
¨ augmenting the language and literacy experience for the delayed child
¨ reassessment of current practices and dialogue about new strategies
