DescriptionThe Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential™ is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education and is a key stepping stone on the path of career advancement in ECE.  The CDA Credential™ is based on a core set of competency standards, which guide early care professionals as they work toward becoming qualified teachers of young children. Earning the CDA Credential™ is a big commitment, but one that creates confident educators and providers with command of today’s best practices for teaching young children.

The CDA Series provides participants with over half of the required hours needed when applying for the CDA Credential™.  There are also other things that need to be completed to obtain a CDA  Credential™ (verification visit, professional portfolio, family questionnaires) and these will be discussed as part of the series.

Training will meet requirements for either infant/toddler, preschool or family child care CDA.  Inservice hours will consist of class time, plus independent work completed by each participant following each class.  Participants will have the opportunity to use their own experiences to prepare for each class in the series, as well as apply the information gained to their individual program or classroom.
